THE HARLEQUINS, AT LONG LAST!
It’s no secret, I was chasing Abu Dhabi Quins for a long time for a number of reasons and I eventually got to meet them on one of my trips to Dubai – driving over the border to meet with them, the Saracens and the Abu Dhabi Netball ladies.
The Abu Dhabi Harlequins have been a force in Gulf Rugby for some time and sadly, despite them (in my humble opinion) having a poor online presence – I could never quite get the gig. I got halfway through a build once only to be gazumped by a local guy who let them down. The chairman Andy Cole was the Chairman of the AGRFU when i first got involved in the Gulf Rugby scene back in 2007.
The design is still not as good as it could be, but control is always tough when you’re working to a committee, but this is part of the gig for RuckinRugby. I like the clean layout and the imagery they provided by a local photographer is awesome.
Via some crossed wires, my graphics guy ended up creating a new logo for the Quins, but it turned out to be a bit too radical! Sadly, they settled on a re-draw of their old logo, but at least the compromise meant we had a high-res vector format to work with. I have included Antony’s mock-up here as I thought it was fantastic and I really hope it might get re-visited some time.
New website build with WordPress and integration of Avada theme. Tweak to existing brand and blend with London Harlequins branding as a partner club. Hosted email and a lot of email forwarding accounts and groups. Sportspress theme integrated but yet to be fully incorporated.
